Michael Jackson 

​Michael was one of the horses that was saved directly from the kill pens located in PA. Michael was bought at auction by Brian Moore to ship over the border to slaughter. These kill pen buyers select random horses each week that were meant for slaughter and offer them for sale at a higher price and then the horse will not go to slaughter. Any horse that is not paid for by the end of the week will be loaded with the other horses on a truck headed to slaughter in Mexico and Canada. Click here to read the full story behind how Michael found his way to Purpose Farm along with 2 other horses. Michael is just starting his journey. He was listed as 18 years old at the kill pen however our dentist said he was not a day over 10. 

​He has a gentle spirit and he is eager to please. While he is still green with training Michael is going to quickly become a farm favorite. He has the cutest, chubbiest, cheeks a horse could have. Here is how he got his name. Michael was identified by a number attached to his butt, not a name. His number was 244. Since #244 arrived I kept getting the name Michael in my spirit. I told Raven that Michael keeps coming to me but who names their horse Michael we thought?! As time went by everyone that would come to the farm kept saying he doesn't have a name yet? To us names are important and I really wanted to get it right. Micheal was very sick when he came to us so the vet had to come out several times for him and each time she would ask if we had a name yet. One visit we were talking about it and I told her that I really wanted to pick the right name and she paused and said, " What about Michael?" I looked at Raven and Raven looked at me and we were like OMG! If that wasn't a clear confirmation from God then I don't know what one is! So Michael it is. Why the Jackson you ask? Well as you know we already have Lady Gaga who is just a big hit with the kids, and then our special needs team nick named Justin, Justin Bieber, So if we have a Michael lets make it Michael Jackson. Who doesn't love Michael Jackson!
