FAQ
What qualifies a youth to be part of our youth mentorship sessions?
We mentor youth ages 6-18 who have experienced a life crisis or are currently in a life crisis. More than half of the youth we see live in residential facilities, with extended family members or are in foster care. We do require that every youth that attends, wants to attend. Working with rescued animals is not for everyone.
We do not mentor youth with special needs, developmental disabilities, or physical disabilities. This includes, but not limited to, youth with Autism, ADHD/ADD, and Tourette's Syndrome. There are several well established, experienced organizations in CNY that offer services for individuals with these needs.
How do I schedule a session for a youth?
We schedule 1 to 1.5 hour long sessions at various times Monday-Friday. If you have or know of a child that would benefit from coming to our farm please fill out our online application. Please keep in mind that there are many different activities that each child can participate in on our farm. While most children come to interact with the horses, it is always up to the leader's discretion to help choose an activity that is appropriate for the child.
What does a session cost?
God called our family to do this FREE of charge! In addition to our families income; we rely on private supporters and donations! Thank you to those who have purposed their money to help us in fulfilling our purpose of changing children's lives. We cannot do this without supporters. We also thank God for the grace he has given our family to keep moving forward with his ministry.
What are the clothing and equipment requirements and recommendations?
Can I stay on property during my child's session
If adults, and or siblings, choose to stay on property we ask that you follow some general safety rules. We hope for this time to be relaxing and enjoyable for all who come.
