As a Christian growing up there are two very simple things that I never learned. They are very simple and can make all the difference in your life. One is the power of speaking it out loud. God NEVER just thought about something and it happened, he SPOKE it. In the old testament God spoke the world into existence, Genesis 1:1-25, it continually says And God said. In Psalm 33:8-9 it talks about the Lord spoke, and it came to be. He did not just think about it or whisper it. In the new testament in Mark 4:39 he spoke to the storm to calm it, and in John 11:43 Jesus cried out in a loud voice for Lazarus to come forth. Once again he did not just think it or whisper it. These are just a couple of examples of many throughout the bible. So when you really want God to hear you or you really want an answer from God, speak it out loud, shout it if you have too. If your looking for something to happen in your life speak it over and over again out loud. "Speak things that aren't as though they were". Romans 4:17
The other thing that I learned was how important grace is. It is the magic fairy dust that God sprinkles on our life every morning to let us be able to deal with (handle) things that we can not on our own. Some examples might be when your spouse and you aren't getting along and you want to leave God's grace comes in an magically helps you handle it and you stay. When you are sick of the mundane getting up every morning and doing the same thing everyday; God's grace comes in and you carry on. I ask for God to give me new grace everyday. Without God's grace in my life I would not be where I am today.
